Summary: It's that kind of night again. You think you found a nice shortcut, only for it to lead to pretty much nowhere. But a dead end is preferable to being stuck here, with the sort of phenomena that redefines natural selection...
History: A couple of sisters in Europe are off home from a party, only for them to end up in a dark part of the woods. Forced to go on foot to find any civilization, they instead come across a strange small bug-like thing oozing blackness. As it turns out, this bug is connected to a hideous demon-like creature that's been stalking them and some others in the woods and an abandoned catacomb. Not the best way to spend an hour or so in these areas.
Notable Kills: Nothing special.
Final Fate: One of the girls manages to set the beast on fire with a Molotov cocktail. However, once they get the car going, two more monsters, with many of the bugs blocking the road, show up. Presumably, they have the occupants dead to rights...
Powers/Abilities: These creatures can sire small bugs by vomiting them out. Presumably, the bugs' spiky exoskeletons are used to prevent easy escapes for vehicles.
Weakness: Fire.
Scariness Factor: 4-We hardly see these things at all, but when we do, they're constantly oozing blood, they have spikes everywhere, and there's nothing to suggest they didn’t come from some kind of Hell. The bugs are kind of cute, but you'd think twice if you knew how those were conceived. Either way, these spindly horrors blend in with the darkness and you don't, so watch out.
Trivia: -Aside from the urchin-like spikes, the bugs produced by the monsters look a lot like large palmetto tortoise beetles, which are harmless and hunker down so that nothing can get to its soft underbelly.
-This film was directed by Nicholas Winter, who seems more at home directing shorts than full-length films. Considering how dull this one can get, we don't blame him.
